Swisscom is a major telecommunications provider in Switzerland. From postal service to telegraphs and telephones – the company is continuously developing solutions to expand their digital offerings. We helped Swisscom build a lean, scalable MVP that offers both a customer interface and an access for businesses. Starting with five industries in early 2019, the service was designed to be easily scaled to further industries.

Using Swisscom’s rich data, the platform is able to offer a wide range of local businesses for customers to compare. The service is built around the query of "what’s near me?" and allows customers to search by postal code.

To enable more refined search results, customers can filter by generic criteria like price, reviews, language, distance etc. as well as industry specific criteria such as years of professional experience or specific offerings.

For businesses, as our early on testing with a lo-fi, axure prototype underlined, it was crucial to be able to set up a profile and create advertisements quickly and easily. To retain full control and complete tasks efficiently, the whole setup and advertising process was streamlined to be as simple as possible and supplemented by tips and additional information.

Setting up an account and placing simple ads is free of charge. However, if a business wants to increase its visibility, it can bid on good placements. The higher the bid, the better the placement. Costs and rankings for all advertisements are displayed transparently and can easily be modified to changing needs.

To be able to rollout the service blueprint for about 25 other industries in 2019, the system is built to scale, fast. Different colour sets allow customized industry experiences that, at the same time, form a consistent brand through maintaining structure and function.
